He is trying to setup the "source" system up so that it can transfer the haxxed save of Fieldrunners to the "target" system, but he said that he gets a black screen upon booting it period.

Meaning that he definitely has a TWL_firm issue and can easily fix it from using the Troubleshooting part of the guide.

Are you booting Luma from a bootloader or did you apply any patches to your NAND?
