Is there anything special you can do if you take the HDD apart and hook it up to the PC? It looks easy to do, but is there any benefit? I'm guessing you can pirate XBLA stuffs? I only have a 20 GB so I doubt I would do any of that stuff, but I am curious. I've seen some themes I can pick up and I would like to install those.

Not really anything special. You can transfer demos, backup save files, transfer title updates to it. Pirate XBLA, not just by hooking the hdd up, you want to do that, you need a Jtagged console.

You can also hack certain saves if cheating is your thing, as well as transfer SOME disc-based DLC that isn't console locked, Oblivion's Knights of the Nine for example.

Also, if you don't go online much and hate redownloading, you can back up any arcade title you've bought.
