Gaming Having Problems trying to install Chrome OS

So I've wanted to try out the Chromium OS http://chromeos.hexxeh.net/, on my HP laptop. It told me to use Windows Image Writer to write it on a USB Drive. So I did and tried installing it.

What happened was that it didn't boot on both usb drives I used, and I had to use DISKPART to fix one drive, and use a hdd program for the other drive as it would not even show up on Windows.

I thought Chromium only ran on certain hardware configurations?

IIRC Chrome OS is ARM-based, so you have to have a special device, like a Chromebook or a Raspberry Pi, to use it.
