Hey guys, I have installed a custom firmware through Haxchi (99999E). I wanted to ask if it is save to disable the DNS Block for just a few minutes or if it will get me banned or install a firmware update from nintendo. I want to do it because the guitar hero live game asks to install an update (without this update you cant play the "live songs"). Has somebody had experience with guitar hero and CFW or has a workaround?

First, if you're running Haxchi, you're already on 5.5.1, which is the latest, so even if faking the version didn't work, there's currently no firmware update that's newer.

Second, nobody has reported that they've been banned for running Haxchi, even if it's active in memory when you download from Nintendo. But if you're not comfortable, just power off/on, change the DNS (or run NNUPatcher), update your game, and change your DNS back. (assuming, of course, that your game itself isn't using a fake ticket.)

Third, you could download the update with a utility like WiiU USB Helper and install it with WUP Installer y mod or WUP Installer GX2 to avoid having the WiiU download the update from Nintendo. (But then you have to wonder whether Nintendo would care more that you're downloading with a PC than they would about downloading with a hacked WiiU.)

tl;dr: Yes, just update. Nintendo doesn't seem to care what you do as long as you don't cheat online.

Guitar Hero Update is not on USB Helper, I have the actual game disc. What is the NNUPatcher?

The NNUPatcher lets you visit the eShop although you have DNS update blocking active.
By the way when you have the disc and installed the update you could use tik2sd to dump ticket and title of the update to provide it to that key site so it appears in Wii U USB Helper. ;)

I'm sorry. I said a utility like Helper, meaning an NUS download utility. I should have used a different example. Guitar Hero is one of the few disc-only games, so it won't actually be in Helper. (We have the ticket, but there's no NUS download of the game title.) You can still download the update with other utilities like JNUSTool that don't care if the game title is downloadable.

Hikari06: That's something that you could include in one of your next few releases. :P

I downloaded the update and installed It, but when i play It always ask to connect to Nintendo network...
Im on sbhc with 5.5.1 and original disc of the game.
Is there any workaround?
