I'm trying my best to get a GeForce 9600 GT for my birthday next month, that should do

, however, my processor is just a Core2Duo, will it do nicely with it? My buddy got your specs except with 9600 GT, and he begged DMC to go laggy so he can think of strategies a little better, but it still blasted to 100fps after all is maxed, Assassin's Creed enjoyed its glory too, I envy him

LOL, this game is just so funny!
I've killed a guy a few days ago, and then I heard on Weazel News that they found the body.
They suspect the killer is a person that plays violent video games (without having any proof)

And earlier in the game, my house was burnt down, and the police suspect that it was arson because they saw people throwing molotov cocktails at the house. But they aren't sure....

Sorry for the double post, but I just drove through the Times Square part of Liberty City, and there I saw a promotion panel that said 'Pirate Games, Music, Films!'

Just so funny, I couldn't stop thinking about GBAtemp then. This is one funny game, I'm really impressed by how Liberty City lives.

I also came across an oil company called TERRoil and a building with GetALife on it.

i saw this video of it for the PC on FULL SETTINGS!
GTA IV gameplay shooting/police - PC! HD/max graph
it looks very sharp
and the graphics have improved VERY much
i like it
unfortunatly
i don't have a computer
i use my parents one
and it is VERY crap
it can only JUST handle high quality videos
and sometimes firefox just crashes when i do it
lol
so i don't think i will get it
and plus my brother has it on his 360
but he doesn't let me play it
damn you
mad.gif

ive only played it once
........at my cousins house.........in newcastle
lol
but still very good game

EDIT:
i just noticed that the video is not working
ill just give u link for it

Aparently alot of people have trouble running it very well even with good pc's.
I got an intel Q6600 quad core cpu, it takes up about 90% of my CPU load at times. My video card is a geforce 8800GT overclocked, and it won't run properly on anything higher than medium settings.

GTA IV, eh? Awesome game. Though the aiming system's screwed up. D'ya know how hard it is to hit pigeons like that?
biggrin.gif

I think the aiming system is very good. Especially when performing drive by's it's a big improvement!
Not very realistic (you can just perform headshots to people behind you, while driving), but a big improvement.

I'm at 52% now, almost done with the storyline (I think)
And those pigeons are indeed a pain in the ass. So hard to see them, and then when you shoot at them , the cops are after you....

Is it true that you will have to kill pigeons to progress in the story line?

So rockstar really fucked up with the port eh?

Nah, it just wasn't as well optimised as people had hoped. You can expect a CPU heavy strain in this game anyway, it has to calculate where all the pedestrians and cars are going and coming from at the same time.

I can barely run this damn game with everything on low, sliders all the way down, and at 800x600. I have a worthless Dell XPS 200, so I don't really have a lot to work with in terms of graphics cards. But, with the money I hope to get from Christmas and the money I have been saving (which seems like years) I hope to build a new system. I'm going to use parts from my old Dell XPS 200 and get some new parts (case, mobo, power supply, CD Drive, and GPU).

But I have a question, can a 9800 GT run the game well? I am on a budget, and I don't have that much money to work with...

Yes, it can run the game decently.

Oh ok then, thanks. The game looks pretty damn good already with everything on low, I wonder what it would look like with the resolution and some of the settings higher!

Yeah, a 9800 GT should not have much problems with this game.
Here's something I found on the 9800 GT and GTA IV:

I'm holding off on the new drivers because they are beta. But I bet performance will increase significantly.

I think my CPU is a huge bottleneck here - just a dual core E8400.

Here is my comp config, just to notice how i can run the game

AMD phenom 9550 Quad Core 2.30 Ghz
4.00 Gb of ram (2 piece of 2 GO)
Nvdia geforce 9500 GS 512 MB
windows vista 32 bit

I run the game in 800*600 at 60 FPS, all graphic max

I can run it on 1200*1024 but i got the far view reduced because of my 512mb GC and just an average of 17 FPS so i prefere to run the game in 800*600
