i think ur setup is bugged.
I'm having no problems running games at 4:3 on my 16:10.
You might need to fiddle with settings a little bit. It took me awhile to get it right.

No, it's a very well-documented issue, and it's a topic of raging debate over on nVidia's official forums. Rather, I think what's going on in your case is one of the only known work-arounds for the issue -- certain monitors have the capability to adjust scaling for aspect ratios on their own. The newer drivers have the "use my display's built-in scaling" option set by default (check in the nVidia control panel to see). If your monitor is capable of it, then this will resolve the issue.

Unfortunately, my Samsung Syncmaster relies on software scaling, so I'm a slave to whatever my video card can do. It's an excellent monitor otherwise, though.

well my video card does the scaling in dvi mode. i only got my monitor to do it once through dvi, but when im using analog connections the monitor can handle the scaling itself.

i guess im lucky

I've had the card since the new year. It seems to be a comfy place in power and price and pretty much only Crysis has made it struggle out of the couple games I have for PC. COD4 demo ran nicely too btw.

LOL, I know how you feel man. I also just upgraded to a new PC and the difference almost made my head explode!

It breathes fresh air into my old games and lets me play ones I couldn't dream of running before.

Not bad. Lol, even if you get the latest QX and E8400, it won't bottle neck your video card for a long time. Right now games are pretty much limited by our video cards first. However, I can't say the same about Alan Awake, which seems to run 4 core and high power, possibly QX series...

Do you have the new DELL XPS? I know that they come with 8 series SLI. I've heard that the temprature get pretty high though...

Yeah it's the Dell XPS M1730.
Has a dual-core with 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, 400GB HDD and the two 88 GPU mentioned above.
I was worried that it would overheat but I haven't had any issues and I can hold the computer any were. It runs almost everything at 1920x1200 like Asassin's Creed PC maxed in DX9 and has 40+ FPS. The only downsides on the computer is the weight, the 17" screen and the battery time which is 1h 30mins and under 1h when gaming. But I didn't really buy it so I could have a portable computer but to be able to take it to my parents place when I was to visit them.
