I just noticed that you can reinsert the DISC after a DRE and it continues from there. Wii drive is that smart!

got DRE in galaxy, reinserted and continued where I left off.

is this normal?

..... good luck and have fun

yea it's pretty normal
atleast i got random errors on re4 few times and worked after reinserting dvd

wow thats kind of cool

I have only gotten one DRE while playing a game and that was the during the first time that I played a backup but its good to know that you can do that

Ok. Thats just cool. I would have *never* thought to do that. I just accepted the fact that every now and then I'd have to reboot my Wii. This may sound wierd, but I can't wait to get my next DRE to try it!

yeah this happened to me before, and you could do it with gamecube too.

hell, if you play agame and just eject the disk it'll ask you to reinsert it and you can reinsert any disk and it'll keep playing until it needs to read from it again.

will this hurt the disk reader in any way? i stopped doing this because my friend told me that ejecting it while still on after i get the DRE and putting it back in harms the lens or something iono. Im a freaking noob at this so just wondering if this harms the drive in anyway.

I got a DRE while playing a retail copy of Zelda, but I didn't know this trick and lost about 5 hours of progress.

I hear ya' buddy.

The game's more important than the console itself.
It doesn't matter whether the frikkin' drive spoils

I just wanna be able to hold back my tears and shove back the disk and pray for a miracle that it still works.
Like who gives a shit whether the 'lens' spoils or whatever.
Losing 5 hours of gameplay would destroy me, I'd like to get it back no matter what.

Screw DRE's.
