Hi, I hacked my original Switch some time ago, and I last updated the files about a year ago. I wanted to install a new game on it; I normally do this using Goldtree.
When I double-click on Quark.jar however nothing happens. It's like it doesn't even register. I suspect this may be because I recently updated the drivers in my Windows PC, and one of those was for Java.
When I use command prompt it gives me an error(*), even though I think I am now running the latest version of Java Runtime (I just reinstalled it today).

Any advice on what I need to do?

Thank you in advance.

(*) This is the error I get:

I:\retro\nintendo\Switch\Goldtree>java -jar Quark.jar

Drivers, for Java? Anyway, it tells you right in the error that your Java version is not compatible. I'd recommend staying on the latest version of Java 8 and using NS-USBloader with Goldleaf instead of Quark.

https://github.com/developersu/ns-usbloader/releases/tag/v7.2

Just download and install the first one listed there, "Installer-7.2.exe".

Thank you for responding. You are right that it's not the drivers for Java that I installed! It's just that the application I used is called a driver updater, but it probably just updated Java to the latest version while it was going about updating other files. It's a Norton application, so part of me wonders if Norton is trying too hard to protect me from myself and is now blocking access to this application...

Thank you for the recommendation to use NS-USBloader. It does seem like a more modern way to do this than the Goldleaf / Goldtree combo I have been using for the past 5 or 6 years.

After a bit of testing I have managed to get it working, so I think I'm good to go.

Thank you again for your help.
