The wonder of ancient Greece comes to life on Jan. 18, when Glory of Heracles™ launches exclusively for the portable Nintendo DS™ and Nintendo DSi™ systems. The game marks the first in the popular Japanese Heracles series to launch in the United States. The game is inspired by Greek mythology and written by Kazushige Nojima of Final Fantasy fame. The traditional role-playing game features an engrossing story and a robust battle system. You can roam the countryside as they encounter new characters and gain experience, or they can visit familiar ancient settings like Athens and Sparta. Although the plot is fictional, many of the people and places in the game are based on familiar Greek mythology. An extensive glossary provides more details about the places and characters that heroic Heracles encounters. You will be treated to animated cut scenes on the screens of their Nintendo DS or Nintendo DSi systems. You can opt to use the stylus or control pad and buttons to control movement in the game, while the touch screen is required to complete optional challenges used to power up spells or skills during battle.

Is anyone looking forward to this game? I just noticed that there was a Japanese version of this game. Has anyone tried the Japanese version of this game? Was it fun?

"Is anyone looking forward to this game?"
What? This is one of my most anticipated games, FINALLY Nintendo is localizing this series, damn Nintendo!

This is actually the first time me seeing this game. How popular is this game anyways?

This series is very popular in Japan since the NES era, but here (West) no1 knows about it.

Actually, now that I read the description of that game it sounds pretty good. I thought this was somehow related to that crap Heracles racing Wiiware game. :\

This game is very well done.

Oohh, it finally has an actual release date. Last I checked, it was just 2010.
I've been looking forward to this game, particularly because of the setting. While I know any game or book based on history would be bound to take liberties with facts, I hope the discrepancies aren't too glaring.

I already played a bit of the Japanese one, since there is a translation patch for it (that has pretty much all the menus and a decent chunk of dialogue). It's not bad at all, and it's pretty fun. The only thing I find funny is how Heracles, some super-strong god-like character, is often the weakest member in your party. Seriously, no matter what I did he always did less damage and took more damage.

BUMP - It seems like no one made a dump of Glory of Heracles yet. I thought the release of Glory of Heracles and Sands of Destruction were on the same day (1/18/2010)

crap i am excited!
hopefully what happened was:

said dumper had glory of heracles and sands of destruction ready for dumpage.
had to make a gut check choice to dump either game first
said "hey maybe i should dump just one this tuesday, give all the people a chance to play one, and then next tuesday have glory of heracles ready."

in a perfect world friends that would be the case
cuz im loving this SoD game.
Also,im very excited for Glory of Heracles.

I was hoping for an earlier dump

, but, yeah, Sands of Destruction is cool and I still haven't beaten the game yet. I want to be able to get GoH and SoD on my R4 first so I won't have to go to this website and go to that website for the download. I like to get things done faster.
