so what about the people that don't know that the R4 is better; like myself originally when I bought the EZFlash V.
I assumed that being as how they were a similar price (without the 3in1) they would be of comparable quality.

Do you think its fair to other customers implying that your product is just as good (same price) when infact its an inferior product?

Lets parallel the situation to cars. You are a loyal chevy customer. You've boughten several of them over your life. Then a new model comes out that claims it is the best chevy ever; and is priced as such. You buy one because your understanding is that all your other chevys have been great, and this one claims to be even better.
When you get it, the paint fades. It stalls randomly, the radio doesn't work and the fabric on the seats is terrible. You just assume that all new cars are like this; but on a whim drop another $20,000 on a toyota that doesn't do any of the bad things, and is much better than the chevy was at the things that it was good at.

You don't feel slightly cheated out of $20,000 by chevy?

3. Built in memory costs quite a bit, while MicroSD cards are widely distributed and sold extremely cheap. Also the G6 has the highest quality components, and their customer service and support is excellent. That being said, some carts such as the R4 offer the same thing. Consider the fact that the R4 + 1gb MicroSD costs about $90.

I suppose the 90 dollar number is Canadian but I still think that's pretty far off from what I paid. I paid just over 40 USD to have a R4 with 1 gig Micro SD card shipped.

Anyway, I have a general question. I have a R4 and I'm very happy with it, it was cheap, easy to use, it seems to be updated frequently and all that fun stuff... I've been looking at slot 2 solutions, I have a GBA SP and I'm torn as to what to do. Should I just wait to see what comes out in the scene? I've looked at the G6 but that's too damned expensive and nothing else seems to do what I'd like. I'd like something that could work with both my DS and GBA without paying as much as my DS cost...

KickGaming has the old GBA sized G6 4Gbit for $65.
If you can find an Extreme Flash Advance, they were pretty good GBA carts.

as well as the fact that you get nasty graphics glitches in the EZ-V menu when the 3 in 1 is plugged in.

Just wanted to point out this problem is easily fixed by updating your shell folder. http://www.ezflash.cn/zip/ez5shell070328.zip

All you are missing is a 3in1.bmp in your \shell folder.

I received an R4 yesterday (been an EZ-Flash user for awhile) and so far initial impressions are favourable.

I do have to admit that my EZFlash IV was, and is to this day Fantastic.

Yea $90 is Canadian, I payed that much, but in general other than Deal Extreme $40 is unrealistic.

Really I have nothing more to comment, the EZV does everything it advertises perfectly. It doesn't claim to be better than the R4. You can't say because they are the same price, they should be comparable. I know lots of games that are priced too high or too low, I don't think it is an advertisment scam... There are tons of products priced differently in different places, does that mean they are scamming people in different places? I think this is a stupid thread, I'm surprised that the EZ Team even replied...
It's not unrealistic.. I got my bundel in the mail today

I mean in general, most people will not buy R4s from a shop from China with incredibly cheap prices, even with high recommendations. Most people would go for a more trusted site like RHS.

I don't understand why either. The R4 will work all the same. Bamboogaming and Kaidomain (subdivision of FifthUnit/DealExtreme) are also selling them for quite low (25-30 USD for just the unit)

whoever keeps asking questions just read the gbatemp reviews of each card.
I really didn't like the fact the EZV's cart's front is covered by a sticker because the chip is too big. I also don't like patching my roms just so they'll run better/have softreset. R4 does that fine unpatched + kingston japan microsd. Also there's a huge thread on the EZV's slot2 cart working fine with the r4. Planning to order that from sky2k.com for $18US. Anyone ever order from there? Opinions?

Gah, you guys are so lucky:( I paid 126$ total for my R4

I got it from modchipstore not paying much attention, I was thinking of doing homebrew for the DS, saw the ds-x and was like, oh that's pretty cool, and I ordered that, I did some more looking around on the site and saw the R4, I cancelled my order because I saw it was 10$ cheaper than the dsx, and seemed better... I got cheated out of my my money so bad

I didn't even realize I can just get a r4 alone from that site for 40$ and an mem card(I assumed they were just expensive) for like 10 bucks....

I ordered the 3-in-1 from Sky2k... it was 25 USD shipped to US, pretty good, but the item took 2 weeks to arrive, because (unstated on this Canadian site) it shipped from Hong Kong. Echostore.com now sells them for a shade more, and my experience with their shipping is excellent (received next day).

thx tufty.

And it's just my personal opinion about the ez5. I just want simplicity which it doesn't have.
