GDEMU and NBA Showtime

I discovered last night that my GDI of NBA Showtime was both having weird audio problems during play on my Dreamcast GDEMU, and was causing the GDEMU menu to take a long time to load. When I deleted the GDI, and kept the folder empty, the menu loaded right up.

I looked around on this, and caught a reference from one person several years ago to "some NBA game" having compatibility problems with the GDEMU. Is this a known compatibility issue with NBA Showtime? I'm just curious if I need to look at this as a bad gdi or if it's a game I should not try on the GDEMU.

I have NBA Showtime as well as every other US release on my real gdemu and the gdemu menu loads very fast. Is your dump from TOSEC?
