Welcome to a new feature on GBAtemp: the Weekly Group Highlight! One of the most exciting additions to GBAtemp V8 is the Groups feature, which allows users to create their own discussion areas on whatever topic they'd like. We want to spotlight some of the wonderful things our community is doing, and so we've decided to highlight one group per week on the front page! This week's group is @subcon959's Steam Deck group. The group's description and a link to their page can be found below:

If you've created a group and want to get spotlight in the next edition of the Weekly Group Highlight, your best bet is to make sure your group is as active as possible, has a nice banner and description.

The owner of the group featured in the Group Highlights will receive a nice +200 XP bonus, and a trophy!

True, they are for the most part unregulated, so people can do whatever they want with groups, leading to a bit of a mess, but this is expected.

We need to help people discover & tell apart the better groups. Hence this weekly feature.

There will be other ways too, we're always open to suggestions. The "groups" addon landing page can still be improved too.

It can also be used as a boost. There are great groups that does fulfill those requirements yet gets little attention from the users even if the founder puts effort into it.
Featuring a group will surely boost its inner activity levels, as it already happening with the Steam Deck group.

No, because that would incentivize simply joining all the groups for the XP.
This is incentivizing making strong communities.
