well maybe someone should start a community just in making offline list

where the community can edit data kind of like wikipdeia but for scene releases

than the community edited list can export to offline list.

I have one almost complete but it's PAL only, as that's my native region. There are, however, things in my list hat the scene has missed, so it's pretty good I think. Though I don't have some of the fields, like genre/year/date, etc...I have CRC, Version Number and gamecode (both verified by boot.bin file on the disc's game partition). There's a few variations I'm still working on getting info for like languages, and I haven't looked at german of french only games yet (etc) as they're hard to come by.

I've made a website for all this stuff, but didn't put anything up yet as I was still working on data. The idea was to be heavily user-based, and try to include boxart and search functions and everything. just php I think. What do you think?

ya i think someone need to start an offline list community site that manages every console system and stuff.

I got a feeling advancese is going to do a wii offlinelist after all they did other systems.

php site can work but after coding using jsp with glassfish. i like the power of java a lot better.

also even if the community can edit the list. there are going to be problems where people change data to other junk.


I think the wii community isnt big enough compared to other systems.

The idea on my site was to have user submissions to edit/change things, so if you saw an error you would report it with a simple button, and I can get then go through and double check...That way no one would change it like a wiki...

turning my list into an offline list would be pretty easy too, i imagine

well but than you will have to manage everything or have mod that will be willing to help manage.


I am thinking to be unmanaged the best way is to have a voting system of changes..

the ones with more votes will be placed higher


the auto generated list will use the one voted highest.

Depending on how many people use the site that might work...

But as long as the entry was accurate toe begin with I see little to no reason for maintenance until new releases come out...
