Is it necessary to turn on native controller to use the link cable for games like wind waker? I haven’t gotten far enough to find out. Thank you!
Hacking GBA link cable with Nintendont

The link cable uses the GBA's link communication protocols, not the GCN'S controller ones. The Mayflash adapter, being a HID device, does not support said protocols.
