Since he is on 9.2 he can use sky3ds to boot homebrew via ninjhax. No reason to mislead the guy, even if gateway is the superior solution, there's no reason to ommit features from the competition

well, if homebrew is the only thing the op is interested in then a flashcart isn't even needed. I can load ninjhax with my gateway, and do more that the other flashcart cant.

Pretty much like my Wii. I can play super nintendo games through snes9x but there are so many good wii and gamecube games that I probably never will but hey at least the possibility is there lol.

I have a decent android phone, which is better than my 3ds at everything except playing 3ds games. Everything in the world has a Doom port, and everything with a wifi chip has a ftp server (and Doom). Yawn. People talk about homebrew like it a massive game-changer, and it was many years ago when game devices were the best option (I can't remember the last time I played a psp game on my psp).

So I'm kind of in the same place you are. Yeah, its neat. But not terribly useful.

Only useful thing so far is the play coin setter

As the title says. I'm finally going to break down and get a flashcard. I have a US 3ds, the small ones that came out first, and am on version 9.2.

So what are your guys experience, which should I get?

My concerns are:
Being able to use cfw.
Using homebrew.
compatability
Ability to save games.
And simplicity.

Also any reputable retailers would be appreciated.

What stable CFW is there on the web that is worth using?
Ability to save games? what do you mean?
Compatible with what?
Nothing is every simple.

I don't know, that's why I asked.
Game saves as some games like pokemo xy encrypt and have issues.
compatible with the unit described in the first paragraph.

Everyone else: for homebrew, because I want, that should be enough.

Now will a mod lock this derailed disaster?

You basically said to "save games" not backup your game saves.

Because you want...............okay. Next question

WHICH CARD WILL "HELP" YOU RUN HOMEBREW?

Man, youre not even the one I was reacting to. Thanks for the help but I know what I'm going to do.

Gateway hacked the system, has constant support, will have additional features. Sky3DS is just a 1:1 cart with a button on. Buying Gateway supports future hacking of the 3DS and Sky3DS will probably abandon support and leave to the users once it's patched.
