Nintendo and other publishers have ported their games to the Switch and PS4/Xbox, but surely there's still a some or a few only available on the Wii U?

I just remembered Devil's Third! I recall being so excited for it, then it was released, I received.. and the gameplay was frustratingly boring and repetitive.

Not surprised this one was never ported to other consoles.

When I think of Wii U exclusives, these come to mind:
  • Star Fox Guard and Star Fox Zero
  • Dr. Luigi
  • Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars
  • Xenoblade Chronicles X  (I still hope for a Switch Port)
  • Devil's Third!
  • Game & Wario
  • Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
  • The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD
  • Pokémon Rumble U
  • Pushmo World
  • NES Remix 1/2
  • Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival:shit:
  • Meme Run
  • Paper Mario: Color Splash

Man, I had forgotten about those.

I do hope Nintendo (or in this case, Platinum Games) Star Fox Zero to the Switch or its successor with traditional controls, also Xenoblade Chronicles X, Kirby Rainbow Curse, Zelda WWHD, Zelda TPHD, NES Remix Collection, and Paper Mario Color Splash. I'm surprised these games weren't given a Switch release yet as they definitely got huge potential.

Devil's Third? That game would have to be remade since it's such a broken mess.

Let's not forget games like Smash 4 and Splatoon. Yes, they have superior sequels on Switch, but they have qualities/content that aren't present on their Switch equivalents.

Yoshi Wooly World was released for the 3DS as well, but the Wii U version is much better and prettier so I think it's worth mentioning.

The game is very good and in my opinion better than Crafted World.

Yep, it was the same game, but in HD.

I really enjoyed the HD version.

Nintendo Land - one the best couch multiplayer games. Despite being ported, some games still offer quite unique experience on Wii U due to its asymmetric controls. Like Zombi U & Project Zero V, that both are way more immersive on this console. By the same reason a prefer Wii U's Hyrule Warriors & Pokken Tournament - in a local co-op players get separate screens. Rayman Legends have a unique Pad-only player. Art Academy: Atelier is the ultimate edition of this series to date. Monster Hunter 3 allows you to host a local server for up to three 3DS. Also, Pikmin 3 & Wonderful 101 stylus controls works better for me. Oh, and don't forget an eShop exclusive gem - Affordable Space Adventures.

Nintendo Land was fun, yet it was nothing more than a tech demo. F-Zero had a mini game there and since then, that's the "newest" FZ game (ish) Nintendo developed. 😐

Zombi? I tried getting into its atmosphere and vibe, but this game felt really boring to play. Even back then it looked very dated.

Fatal Frame V's a great game glad it's on PS4/Xbox/Steam. I remember reading the Wii U version was censored and despite that, there was still a lot of cleavage so can't complain.

Pokken Tournament.. Pokémon and Tekken awesome, right? No, the gameplay felt very scripted and restrictive.

Wonderful 101 I played that with the Wii U Pro Controller. Gimmicks just aren't for me.

smash 4 was on 3ds as well
Sure, but that's an SD version rather than HD.

  • Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric
  • Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games
  • Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (technically got a 3DS port but still)
  • OG Super Mario Maker (which is imo the better one)
  • And of course the GOTY NintendoLand

Well, those games certainly fit the criteria, but most of those are left better unplayed.
