Pokemon. If you like retro, go for leaf green or yellow. If modern is your thing, X or Y in my opinion were really fun to play. havent really tried the new sun/moon yet, they look too complex for my taste, but you really can't go wrong with any pokemon title

Also Animal Crossing: New Leaf was strongly fun to play, definitely recommend checking it out. There is an NTR plugin for an amiibo NFC reader/writer that worked well, because some update (optional) parts of the game that required amiibo figures/cards

oh man, you totally gotta play through super mario land 2 dx, it feels so at home on 3ds.
