Gamecube - Trying to use Gameboy Interface with a NYKO ps1 controller adaptor, not working

It's not recognizing any inputs. It's recognized everywhere else (in GC games, GCOS, Swiss, etc) Anyone else experience this issue?

I'm using GCOS 1.5 with a Viper GC to run a Swiss boot disc, with an SD2SP2 adaptor.
