Game translation

I want to get into game translation but can't do it myself. Are there any translation teams that are looking for members? I'm not sure how fan translations work for games but I do manga translation for scanlation groups, does it work in a similar way?

I am currently working on a gameboy advance translation of a japanese visual novel by myself. I am not familiar with the usual working methods of translation groups, but I'd be happy to have some help.

My skill is mostly in the hacking, I only have a low level of Japanese (~N4). I've got the text replacement working, so it's just a matter of going through the 50,000 sentences or so and getting translations.

I haven't set up for other collaborators yet, but i could probably do that fairly easily if you/anyone else is interested

I did a little testing for https://fantranslators.info/. If they're not working on the game you want to do, they might have contacts who are.
