well, finally got cords for my PS1 today and was thinking "well, how does one play backed up games?" looked around, found out about the swap trick (if i try that, i will 99% end up breaking my PS1 by throwing it around and smashing the thing. saw a video about this Game Hunter chip and thought that would be the way to go, searched for it and came to http://www.consoleso...idge-p-205.html . well, sadly, i cant order it from there, im in the USA :(. what site sells this chip and is willing to ship to the US?

the video i saw.

will work for your needs

yea... it even comes with a spring ...like he mentions in the video.

the way it works is like this....

its sits in the par port and wait for the system to get in a ready state (by way of starting with a proper psx disc)
it causes the drive to spin down and stop after the psx disc is "authenticated"
you put in your backup and his proceed
psx never realizes you swapped out discs

there are some limitations to these systems....

The psx never realizes you swapped discs...as such it uses the original "boot disc" for information.
So the backup can be no larger in MB than the boot (rarely a problem)
if the backup uses cd audio tracks for music ... it will still see the boot disc TOC for how many audio tracks and how long they are (again rarely a problem ...but some games will not have proper audio)

some boot discs work better than others ... google is your friend.

thanks, they both sound the same to me now.

still think its odd that it said anything about the N64 though.

i guessed it wasnt your ebay lol.
