Why? in the end, all switches will eventually have a soft mod/perm cfw. just like the 3ds family.

It's quite simple really. It's a piece of history that can't be replicated. Sure you could run 1.0 with eFuse patches but having it natively cold boot is effectively an antique in the making.

There's a school of thought maturing in certain circles that software revisions will become more sought after than the hardware themselves.

Sure you can run homebrew and will likely have access to CFW coldboot on any firmware but it's just not the same to me. It's a piece of history. It might not seem like it now but in my opinion one day it will.
