i have a ps2 fat with an internal hdd of 2tb

everything used to be loaded from the hdd

but my kids seemed to have seriously messed up my ps 2 here. apparently they got into fmcb configurator and reseted to default now when i launch i still get fmcb to load, im on 1.953 but i only get browser and system configuration from the menu, all my apps are gone and i cant access fmcb configurator anymore.

i still have my original memory card and can still load the configurator from the memory card but everytime i select load fnc from hdd it says hdd not found, also if i boot having both the memory card and hdd connected then it freezes at launch on fmcb startup screen.

i beg you help me get back into it.

You should be able to autoboot RESCUE.ELF from the root of an USB drive, from there you should be able to run the installer and remove/reinstall FreeMCBoot and FreeHDBoot (great opportunity to upgrade to 1.954 ;) )
