Hacking First Wii questions.

Okay, I just got a wii, and I want to ask 2 questions:
1. Is there any way that prevent my 2 little brothers to go to Homebrew channel? (If wad manager is in it, they could possibly brick it...)
2. Can I update to the newest system software? (I still have plans to mod it, and I want to install HBC)

I would install the HBC before updating.

You can install it after updating, since the Twilight Hack has been updated (a long time ago) and still works with the newest firmware.

However, the HBC standalone installer only works on 3.2 or lower.

Then explain to me why I was able to install the HBC on a newly formatted wii 3.3E with the HBC stand alone installer?
Ah you meant the installer ISO, ok that one doesn't work. The TP installer however, does work. And he said he hasn't chipped his Wii yet, so he wouldn't be able to start the ISO anyway.
