So I am starting to get into homebrew on an old 3ds xl and I was seeing some say their NTRBoot chips aren't compatible and others saying they accidentally bricked their device. I got a Ace3ds chip from Ali (Exact product name: High-performance Game Cartridge For ACE3DS PLUS NDS 3DSLL Super Combo Cartridge) and was wondering if this was compatible and if so how to possibly avoid accidental bricking my device.

Ntrboot is really great, if you follow the guide you will not brick your device. In some instances it can actually be really useful to unbrick a device.

As for whether it is compatible I'm going to say thats a yes. Its a clone of the one that the guide links to, and if its this one:

High-performance Game Cartridge for ACE3DS PLUS NDS 3DSLL Super Combo Cartridge
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mOJvMLE

it says this right in the description:

"has been pre-flashed NTRBOOT and supports installing boot9strap on all 3DS consoles models & versions The using method of Ace3DS X is a little different from other flashcards, and you need to insert one FAT32 microSD card(maximum capacity is 128GB) to your flashcard The other steps of using Ace3DS X are the same as other https://3ds.guide/installing-bootstrap-(ntrboot)"

So I'd say you're good to go

Wonderful I appreciate it, it does show that on the description of the one I got and looks exactly like the link you provided. I would've provided a link to mines but when I attempted it did not allow me to post but I appreciate the help
