Gaming Finding friends for Splatoon

I have 80 friends on my friends on my friend list, most of which I met on MH3U, and have long since moved on to other things. A few of them sometimes play Splatoon, but it's difficult to catch them all at the same time and organize a private match. How exactly does one go about making friends to play Splatoon with?

_ reddit (I'm not used to reddit, I rarely browse that site so I can't give you much advice)
_ squidboards (a nice community, I wish it was a little bigger though)
