When I tried to do an "update all" or an "update" in FBI, I get an error:

Failed to check for update.
Result Code: 0xD963F806Level: permanent (27)
Summary: internal (11)
Module: application (254)
Desc: HTTP 404: Not Found (412) - for " update all"

-or- bad data (6) - for "update"

I am running ver.2.5.0. ... Any idea on why?

I don't know why you're getting this error, but it should be noted that 2.5.0 is the latest version of FBI.

I know 2.5.0 is the latest, but it used to tell me that no updates were available. It also gave a similar error when I tried to update HBLauncher using the [Update All] option. That fails with Result Code: 0xD963ZF99C with the same 404 Not Found error. I just tried again and I should point out that it did an upgrade to Checkpoint just fine with the [Update All] option, but again failed on HBLauncher.

Have you tried redownloading the apps and reinstalling manually?

Per the patch notes for 2.5.0: "Also, the built-in updater should no longer work on versions older than 2.5.0, as GitHub has disabled TLSv1.1 support." Issue 450 on github is the discussion regarding fixing it. Unfortunately, as a new user I can't link directly to it, but it shouldn't be hard to find.
