Hacking [Fake] Is this 3.66 downgrade method legit?

I am not a new member here, I am not some noob that has no clue what I'm doing, but I stumbled upon this:

I'm surprised I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere here yet, whether on a legit downgrade thread, or a known fake list, no where that I can see.
Can someone comment on this? According to various users on that forum themself, it does work, but I'd like it if someone here would confirm or defirm it, since I trust this site a lot more.

Strange restrictions, requires 2 4GB+ USB drives, 2 Wired USB controllers, A PS3 made before Feburary 2009, a NON DVD (CD or "early" Blue-Ray game only) disk that the PS3 can read, etc. It's really confusing me if this is real or not.

No reason to hide it IMO, and there have even been people here since this method came out that said there is NO way to downgrade 3.66, which was a flat out lie since this method works.

It's fake, plain and simple, many people from other respectful sources have tried this and it does not work.


The only way you can downgrade from 3.56 and above at this moment and time is that you have a phat ps3 and infectous chip.

If it was a actual working method you would have seen it as front page news on PS3 scene sites, but it's not because it's fake.

That's what kinda let people to believe that it was fake in the first place.

I hope you meant the original finder of the "downgrade", not me.

But yea, if this is truly fake, someone lock this thing and put it on some known fake list.

A lot of the steps it require you to take look really fake. If I had the time or the capacity to care about downgrading my ps3 then I'd try this out an confirm for you but unfortunately I do not.
