No I haven't tried because it actually catches the signal and shows the rescue shell but not the desktop, tried switching ttys but no luck, in the one (F7 I think) that should have the desktop there's this black screen. Any chance it's a kernel thing?

Yes, it might be the kernel. You can try another from the link I sent you, the ps4linux/downloads one. It is written there that the 5.3 one(can't remember exactly the version) is experimental. Also be sure to use the one for the belize model since that seems to be the southbridge that model of ps4 has
