. . . details please

So the 2ds was on 8.1
I did all the ninjhax stuff (it was v1.1 so menuhax didnt work since you need 9.0 -9.2
So i did get rxtools did the unlinking and all that
I even managed to update the 2ds to 9.2

So i Tried to get menuhax but it did not work

Now i have a 9.2 2ds and will try it again
I formatted the 2ds and the SD card, i assume thats all i gotta do

. . . ok . . . let me know if/where you get stuck

ok so everything went smooth except for this part

  1. On your SD card, look for the file which name starts with "ropbinpayload". Open it with HxD (included in the PC_Apps folder) or Notepad++. Maybe plain old Notepad will work too.
  2. Press CTRL+F and search for boot.3dsx. There will be two results.
  3. Change both to auto.3dsx and save the file.
Problem is, there is only one result instead of two . it the second result hidden somewhere ?? i am trying to coldboot to rxtools

Just change the one and see what happens.

the homebrew launcher starts, not rxtools
hmm
i did install menuhax just like the guide mentioned

so the fact that booting the 2ds directly to something else other than the main menu means i did install menuhax correct ?

instead of that i used the old method using
CtrBootManager: 3ds boot manager/loader (HomeMenuHax)

to set it up rename your hbc's boot.3dsx on your sd card root to boot_hb.3dsx
then drag and drop the ctrboot manager's boot.3dsx and boot.cfg to the sd root

Yes you installed it correctly. It has to do with your naming. Bear with me as I try to help as I haven't done this for a good while. So if it boots to homebrew then your boot.3dsx is to go to the homebrew menu I'm assuming?

yes the menu is shown after booting the 2ds

yeah i only see 1 boot.3dsx for this robinpayload thing. i will do your method then
in fact here are the files i personally use just unzip it open the folder and copy the 3 files to your sd root and overwrite anything it ask you to
