Everytime I try to turn ON my o3ds it shows that error message, I read in the forum that it has something to do with Luma but... I've got some trouble ,I lost the SD that my 3ds used to have so I have to use a new one, also I can't remember which Nintendo/Luma my 3DS actually is :( , last time it was working properly was like 2 years ago ,then I fucked up and updated it... , yesterday I remembered that I had a 3DS sitting there collecting dust, so I appreciate if you could help me solve this , or just tell me that it has no repair so I don't buy a new SD in vain, sorry if too long /grammar.

edit: just read u can see luma version holding select , Luma is v8.1

Putting boot.firm from the latest Luma release into the root of the new SD should do. If you're on v8.1 this means you're good to go.

The Homebrew Launcher (boot.3dsx) is also part of this archive.

To get everything up and running again, repeat the finalizing part of the guide with your new SD.

If you have any further questions or problems… just ask.

Good luck and have fun!

Edit: Please remember that SDXC (≥ 64GB) have the exFAT file system as mandatory default which is not supported by the 3DS. Reformatting to FAT32 allows using bigger SDs. I recommend checking a new SD for defects and/or fake before trusting it.
  1. Reformat the SD to FAT32, 32kb cluster size, if bigger than 32GB and using Windows with guiformat.
  2. Check your SD Windows, Linux, OS X.
    • If you get any errors replace the SD.
    • If you get no errors start the finalizing setup.
