I hacked 3 Wiis a few years ago at the same time using the manual method and 2 of them worked totally fine but my console always had an issue. The hack worked and all games ran fine but I would always get an error when I played a GC game and reset back to the loader to play GC another game. Not a huge issue but it always irked me.

I've been playing my Wii again recently so I tried to fix this issue. This time I modded my Wii using the ModMii method. Again, the hack was successful but I still have the same issue.

If I play a GC game and reset back into GX Loader using the controller reset combo then I get this message; "Failed loading IOS 58. USB Loader CX requires a cIOS orIOS58 withAHB access. Exiting..."

The only thing that is different is now I get this error message on the black GX Loader init screen, then it goes back to the Home menu and I can load up GX Loader and run a GC game OK without restarting the console.

Before, if I reset a GC game, it would load up into the GX Loader game carousel and then that message would show when I tried to boot a GC game from the carousel. I would keep getting this error message until I reset the console.

Anyone know why my console has this issue? It's a PAL console running 4.3.

Could the reason it worked properly on 2 other Wii's but not mine be the SD Card I'm using, or a version of my console?

Could the reason it worked properly on 2 other Wii's but not mine be the SD Card I'm using, or a version of my console?

Hello.:)

Did you start the GameCube Games from within the USBLoader GX or via NINTENDONT on the Homebrew Channel please ?
On which IOS is your USBLoader GX running please ?
(Settings - Loader Settings - Loader´s IOS)
If it is 58 please change it to 249 and try it again.

Thank you.:)

Yes. I want to use GX Loader as the main game launcher.

These are my settings. I am using 249 for both options.

OK ==> for cios 249 with usb loader gx

A few small additional questions, if you don't mind. Thanks

what is the support, or are your games (SD card, hard drive) ??

In what format (fat32, fat, wbfs) ??

USB loader gx does not read games on SD card. Only wiiflow lite and Configurable loader v70 reads games on SD.

You can maybe set the "Return to" Option to "USB Loader GX"

and

Nand Saves Emulation to "Partial" for Saving on SD Card instead of the Wii Memory.

Then please check of you have installed the full Channel of the USBLoader GX

USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder_5_1_AHBPROT.wad

from https://sourceforge.net/projects/usbloadergx/files/Releases/Forwarders/

and maybe the Channel Booter
for the PRIILOADER to boot directly into the USBLoader GX instead of Homebrew Channel or the Wii System Menu (if you want and like this.:)).

UNEO Channel Booter for Priiloader.zip

from https://sourceforge.net/projects/usbloadergx/files/Releases/Forwarders dols/

Hi. Thanks for the reply. All my games are on USB drive. My SD card is 2Gb so I guess it is FAT32.

The issue is that GC Loader can launch a game but when I reset out of the game then I get that error message if I try to launch another GC game.

Thanks I will try all of this in a bit. I'd be happy to have the Wii boot straight into GX Loader and only use that for launching games.

My 2GB SD Card is FAT.

I've tried changing all of the options for the "Return to" and the NAND Partial setting, but the GX Loader still fails to reload when I exit a GC game with the same IOS58 error.

Did I understand you correct:
You use the SAME configured SD Card (with all Applications on it) on 3 different Wii´s ?

Thank you.:)

No. I modded 3 Wii's each with their own USB HDD and SD Card. All SD Cards were different brands. All systems were setup identically and only mine has this issue.

I modded mine first and had this issue, then I did the other 2 consoles and saw that they can restart GX Loader after exiting a game, so I modded my console again from scratch but the issue remained.

Well, I just used the syscheck updater and it found 2 files to update, so I downloaded them and installed "RVL-cMIOS-v65535(v10)_WiiGator_WiiPower_v0.2" and at the same time installed the WAD for the GX Loader that you posted a link for above and it now reloads GX Loader after I exit a GC Game. So it looks like it's all good now.

How do I setup the PRIILOADER to boot directly into the USBLoader GX instead of Homebrew Channel? I've downloaded it. Do I just copy everything into the root of the apps folder?

Great to hear of your Solution !! :yay:

Thank you.:)

Can you please try to re-install your IOS58 using this Installer:
http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/IOS58_Installer

Please Note you maybe have to use the HackMii Installer AGAIN to re-install the Homebrew Channel (because that it works on IOS58 again.:)).

Sorry. I did post an update but it merged it to my last post. (This is a really annoying feature of this forum btw! :D)

See above...

Ok,now we are back on the Line...... I think.:D

To the Priiloader/USBloader GX Setup:

Please use the "Load/Install File" Option from Priiloader.
Use the Entry "USB Loader GX (AHBPROT Available) please.
When finished, please use the Option "Settings" and change "Autoboot" to "Installed File" and Save Settings.

Now the Wii should automatically boot into USBLoader GX.

Except you have BootMii as boot2 installed and have it enabled on Startup.
Then you always get into the BootMii UI.:)

I'm missing something.

I installed the GX Loader WAD and if I click it on the home screen then it opens up my GX Loader with all the correct settings.

I copied the "UNEO Channel Booter for Priiloader" folder and files into the root of apps on the SD Card.

Then I tried to install GX Loader using Priiloader but there is no AHBPROT option for GX Loader, only the regular GX Loader file. And if I choose this then the console still boots to the Homebrew channel.

I guess I missed the step about the Channel Booter for Priioader. Where do I put the directory and the 3 files and what do I do with them?

Thanks.

I don't know why but this isn't working for me.

I have downloaded the 2 WADs; 1 is the full GX Loader and the other is the GX Loader Forwarder.

I have uninstalled the full GX Loader using a WAD manager and it removed it from my home screen.

Then I installed the GX Forwarder using the same WAD Manager and it shows the channel on my home screen. If i click it then it opens GX Loader.

I install the GX Loader into Priibooter but even if I then select "Installed File" then the system hangs on a black screen. If I set Priiloader to Boot to the Installed file then it also hangs on a black screen.

My GX Loader file still isn't called AHBPROT.

For testing, I have a Nintendont AHBPROT file which I can select with Priibooter as the installed file, and the console will autoboot to Nintendont.

So, for some reason, I cannot install the AHBPROT version of GX Loader.

Which Version of Priiloader do you have please ? Maybe it has to do with that.:)
And please check of which System Menu HACKS you have enabled please.

Thank you.:)

I figured one thing out. Priibooter is not picking up any of the WADs I install. It was only using the programs from the apps folder.

UPDATE:

Yeah, you were right. My Priibooter was v0.7. I updated it to v0.82 and everything worked first time! My console now boots straight into GX Loader and I can exit out of a game and play another game.

Thanks very much for your help and time. This is awesome and exactly how I wanted the console to be as I only use it to play GC and Wii games.

You're a star. Cheers.
