This makes the game not even fun to play anymore...
Is this supposed to happen? I'm fighting regular bandits with an obsidian longsword. Is it my weapon?

Isn't there an attack that breaks their guard? I forget, I haven't played that great game in so long.

Well, there's always that force field-esque magic attack, but after they get up they just guard again.
And the right-click after you get a few hits in breaks guard too. But it's annoying to HAVE to always use it.

And you should play it again! In preparation for III of course.

Flourishs bypass guarding, and hit harder. Use 'em when you can.
Otherwise just stand there vulnerable, they'll attack, guard, beat the crap out of them.

Other option being to get better with a bow/crossbow and blow their heads off before they get to you, lol.
Magic is pretty great for bypassing guard (and killing the enemy) as well. Or use the shield, absorb a hit, and go nuts on the unguarding foe.

Use force push it's the best for knocking over masses of enemies and breaking blocks!
