Hacking External HDD is periodically blinking when Wii U is turned off

My WiiU-format HDD connected to the console is blinking when my Wii U is turned off completely (red light).

I was watching a movie, and just found out about it.

Any reason why it's blinking?

My Wii U is on RedNAND Mocha CFW.
