Hardware External HDD and Y Cable

I am purchasing a 500GB USB 3 external hard drive for my Wii U. Is this a fine Y Cable to provide sufficient power to install and play games from?

As long as its a 2.5" hdd then yes your fine and as long as its the right input for the HDD,

Yup I looked up the model number and it's the same port, so yeah that cable should work fine.

Also make sure when you get it hooked up that you enable your Wii u to not let the HDD so spinning, or games will freeze and make you reset lol.... Learned that the hard way

Currently use different drive that has power adapter, but I have a similar drive like OP. Question, can I use this https://www.amazon.com/Lollipop-Fem...rd_wg=Dkciw&psc=1&refRID=B6YBSR54X6YCAS2MNFY0 then connect the cable comes with this HDD to that?

Should work fine, its a Y Cable, its made specifically to give more power to a device.
