So I got excited about there finally being a 5.5.1 exploit, but I quickly realized not having actual internet may be a problem.

I use USB tethering through my Sprint phone for internet (that's how I'm typing this now) saving me a ton of money on some dedicated internet bill.

I'm just wondering if there's any way around needing the Wii U connected to the internet anybody knows or can think of or some sort of set-up cheaper than paying for internet every month? I've tried making my wifi hotspot with no success. Sorry I'm kinda new to the Wii U scene and I basically just want to get loadiine gx2 working.

I'm wondering if these Wi-Fi enabled SD cards would work in my situation to self-host?
I have one of those Wi-Fi SD cards (EzShare), and it's working flawlessly on my 5.3.2 Wii U. No internet required. But I read earlier today on this thread (read the last 4 or 5 messages) that there may be problems on 5.5.1 to get it working... something related to the use of .php files in the exploit package, instead of .html files. Yo might want to investigate that before you choose to buy one.

There's absolutely a way to host without internet. Your wifi card should allow you to create an adhoc LAN so you can self host the exploit. Here's a tutorial on how to set this up on Windows 10 (maybe it works for 7/8, idk), and there's probably some equivalent on Mac & Linux.

It'll set up a network without internet, but you can still use it to connect your wii u to your computer, so you can self host. After that, just use the instructions from this thread to host the files :)

I got it working for now via USB tether to my laptop from my phone, then Conectify to the Wii U, but I plopped down the money for a Wi-Fi enabled SD adapter so it's less of a hassle. I'll post my results trying to get 5.5.1 working with it when it arrives from Amazon! Thanks

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
