I'm starting to believe I'm the only Dragon Quest fan in the entire Western continent.
I mean... I bought a 3DS mostly because of DQ7 and 8. Crimson Shroud and the Picross games were a reason as well, but it was mostly DQ. I've decided to church upon the recommended lists of 3DS games - not only here, but everywhere, and lists made this year to boot - and I hadn't seen a single DQ recommendation anywhere.
It's flabbergasting. It's also a shame, given it's a fantastic series. No wonder people were unaware of just how important it was for Hero to be in Smash Bros...
(So yeah, if you're reading this and searching for something to play, go play the Sessio Quest games. They're beyond fantastic, and brimming with quality to the core. 8 is easier to get into than 7, and 5 - available on the DS - might just be the best of the bunch.)

I prefer the 3DS version as the top screen shows your current step like Super and also the area starite/shard count. The shard count goes red when a shard you don't have is currently unobtainable.
