Hi guys, got some recommendations? I don't think I played so many DS games in the past, but I would love to revisit it. What DS games do you think age well, and more importantly, look good on Desmume? I would like to play ds games in hi-res :)

I don't know about how well they run in DesMuMe, but here's some off the top of my head that still play fine today:

- Dragon Quest IX
- The World Ends With You
- Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
- Fossil Fighters (underrated imo, or maybe it's just nostalgia speaking)
- Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia/PKMN Ranger: Guardian Signs
- The entire Professor Layton series (highly recommend!!)
- Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney

Many of these do require touch input, though, which can be annoying in DesMuMe. I can't imagine The World Ends With You takes well to a PC emulator, considering it requires simultaneous directional pad and touch screen coordination. However, they all hold up pretty well in the modern day.

- MegaMan StarForce series
- Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
- Pokemon Pearl
- Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days (it doesnt look so great, but on Desmume X432R become another question lol)
- The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass/ Spirit Tracks (this too looks great on X432R)

Sitting here trying to think if any of them aged that badly. Pokemon, what with it being the same game that hit the GBC with a slightly different skin, maybe. After that you are mainly looking at the really early RPGs (believe it or not there was a point where the system was considered to really lack them and the few offerings available for it prior to about 2 years in, I always remember the day about this time in 2006 when three got released at the same time and most of those from before will not hold up today), 3d games like the racing games -- some are fun but where they were often quirky little 16 bit era style things on the GBA here you get muddy 3d of a fairly low framerate stuff which sort of worked at the time but will not hold up now, fps games (again where there GBA is concerned you have some classics, here you have things like Brothers in Arms which even having found a high resolution emulation video, as there was an emulator fork that can do that, does not appeal that much here).
The shorter version of all that is standard retro console protocol really -- skip the annual sports games, skip the tie ins for cartoons, skip the attempts to crowbar in console games to the handheld and the rest can be worth a look, there might be exceptions to the skip lists but those will be easily found on top ? DS games lists.

Looking through http://gbatemp.net/threads/links-to-various-gbatemp-features-over-the-years.352851/ it has been years since I wrote that compilation, never mind some of the threads in it. Would not change a thing save perhaps COP the recruit might be a curio more than it was back then.
