Hacking Download play without region lock?

Hello, I was looking if there was a way to play with my friend's EU 3DS with my US one.

By this I mean I have Mario Kart/Party region unlocked by making it to a .cia.

I have heard about region three but I'm not sure how to use it..

Will making both 3DS run the same .cia using a CFW would work? Thanks..

If you have the EU one it *should* work from what I understand, regionFOUR/regionTHREE only launches the gamecart.

I have the "region free" one on my 3DS. But i'm pretty sure while I was converting the original .3ds rom to .cia i was prompt to either disable region lock or not, which i disabled region locking. So would this work?

I will try to contact my friend and have his 3DS to try.

Yeah, sadly download play doesn't work. But I will try to run both ROMs on both 3DS and see what happens. Thanks!
