Half Byte loader is your only recourse to a few emulators now....

PSP3000's aren't really all that hackable, anyway...
That's exactly it.

Unless there are any more exploits that allow for another CFW, there's nothing that can be done.

Either the Pre-IPL or KIRK need to be cracked for CFW on the 3000, which probably won't be achieved any time soon.

Fix'd...hell will freeze over before we can authenticate/sign our own ISO's and homebrew.

The creators of Action Replay have successfully authenticated their own homebrew, meaning it can be run on any PSP, no matter the firmware.
Should we get hold of any info about how it was done, *bam* we're all winners.

Would it be possible to downgrade a hackable 2000? My cousin accidentally updated his to 6.20 OFW because he thought he was going to update the CFW and not to OFW. I thought it would be impossible considering how things stand with 6.20 currently, but since Gen-D offered the ability to pandora battery your PSP 1000 from OFW 6.20 back to CFW (I think it does because I remember reading that somewhere, but it could've just been my imagination), I figured maybe you could do it on a hackable 2000 too. Can anyone confirm if this is possible?

Yeah, you can make a Pandora battery with an already hacked PSP-1000 (I've done that to downgrade my friend's 1000), but I'm not sure if you can use that battery on a 2000. You should check the Pandora/MMS guide for installing CFW sticky and ask there.

Which tells you that since this happened last year and no-one has got anywhere with achieving the same thing, and that Datel haven't been sued by Sony yet whilst the AR is still on sale, that it's highly likely that Datel paid for the encryption keys....

Even if they did dump Kirk, the equipment required costs thousands and since we're dealing with signed eboots without that same equipment no modification of the eboots can be done without breaking them. Six months of absolute nothing proves that Hell is still a warm place.

If this is the case, why did they hide it in the UPDATE folder? If they had the keys they could just make it a regular eBoot.

The eboot.pbp in the /PSP/GAME/UPDATE/ folder, if I remember correctly, has to do with executing in vsh mode which is in between user mode and kernel mode.

Possibly it's in UPDATE because of when it needs to be executed and for no nefarious reasons at all. I really can't imagine Datel could have cracked this and nothing at all have been done with it by the homebrew community (or even a leak!) in the last 6 months...
