Hacking Downgrade from 4.0

I've been out of the homebrew scene for a bit, and I recently got asked by a friend to help him out with his Wii. Seems things have changed since then with this 4.0 stuff. After lurking around, I've found out that you're pretty much screwed if you didn't have the HBC already installed. Well, the bad news is my friend is one of those people, so he is on 4.0 without the HBC. I haven't found an exact answer, but is there NO other way to downgrade? Even by formatting the Wi system memory, does that not effect the firmware of the Wii?

Yes it has been asked a million times and the answer is still no.

Tell your FRiend you cant fix it.
But tell him that the good news is that theyre comming out with a new installer for HBC called Banner Bomb

comexs' exploit has nothing to do with installation of hbc. the old hbc installer is still unusable on 4.0.
