Since there's still no Blogs yet. I'll just put this here. What is Diretide? Recently Valve released and event for Dota 2 called Diretide. It's a game mode which instead of breaking the ancient, you collect taffies, protect taffies and steal taffies* from the enemy. Ten minutes into the game Roshan comes out to "Trick or treat" players. You have to give him a taffy or he will kill you. He is invulnerable at this point in the game and he carries a Gem of True Sight so you can't hide from him. But you can abuse impassable terrains, though you're stuck there until you die or someone gives Roshan a taffy. After another 10 minutes, first part of the game ends and whoever team has the most taffy in their bucket wins and everyone on the team gets a free cosmetic item. You will be given 16k gold and team up with the enemy to kill Roshan** to end the game. After Roshan is killed, everyone gets a free item. For the 10 players who kill Roshan the fastest for each cycle, they will be given a golden baby roshan courier. *Not sure but I think each candy carried reduces hp by 7.5%. **Who has 150k hp, and i think his armor and damage increases as his hp goes down. Greevil Eggs Oh, Diretide isn't just for items. Every player will receive a greevil egg. It will hatch probably on November 12 when Diretide ends. Essences can be put to eggs to change the appearance of the greevil that hatches from the egg. So if you read the spoiler/know about it. Valve gives out 15 items per match(not counting when you level up). Each match would be less than 30 mins, though not counting queuing. But compared to 1-3* items per game which lasts for 40-60 minutes. I don't even care much about winning the taffy battle since I always get an item after every match. If get more taffies, then I get 2 items from that match. All I've been doing for the past week is farming cosmetic items and trading. It's not the usual reason why I play this game. Cosmetics and the Diretide game mode made me a greedy trader instead of a casual pub player. I believe it could be the same from TF2 and hats. I'm not sure if this could be bad or good and why Valve thought of giving away free items which means lesser items bought from the Dota 2 Store. *sometimes you only get treasure boxes which require a treasure key PS anyone wanna trade? I have some rares.
