Sorry if this is a silly question. Currently on firmware 11.13.0 and originally used the soundhax exploit.

Can I go ahead and update firmware then simply update Luma and anything else required afterwards? Also came across something called universal updater, I'm assuming this is probably useful too.
Or would it be best to start from scratch and use the latest preferred exploit?

Any advice would be great!

Okay, thanks. That's what I was curious about. Wasn't sure if that's all that needed to be done after updating firmware. Is this something universal updater takes care of too? Was looking to try that out.

Is anything else required to update, aside from Luma?

Yes u can use UU to update Luma3DS look for lumateam named one in there

Thanks for the quick responses. Much appreciated!

Last question, if I may. We can still update games via the eshop, right? Not sure if that's changed in the past year or so.

You can use Universal Updater to download homebrew software for the 3DS,emulators, tools and such, and you can update them easily there, without the need of removing the sd card from the system every time you wish to add homebrew. :)
