Does splathex still work?

I was wondering if splathex still works for Splatoon 2?
I can open Splatoon 1 saves, but for some reason I can't open Splatoon 2 saves and this box shows:

I asked the creator (I think his name is Lean) and he told me it is discontinued.
I missed the MyNintendo reward that was some 7-eleven promotional gear and I wanted to unlock them using splathex, now I have to find a way to unlock them using hex editors, the problem is that I don't understand the bunch of numbers and letters.
