Hacking does opera channel need wiiconnect24 turn on?

does opera channel need wiiconnect24 turn on in order to function ? i know that the news and weather channels do. thanks

No I don't believe it requires wiiconnect24.
Seems to be working fine without it on my wii.

But most official channels do.

news channel, forecast channel, nintendo channel, everybody votes channel all require wii24.
but opera doesn't.

is there any other kind of web browser, say through homebrew? the flash player on opera is out dated. i read that there is a new one coming out opera 2.0 but could not find a release date.
