Hi.

So I've been playing Brain Age: Concentration Training a lot lately, and have been enjoying the game. I do feel good about myself when I see improvement, and I do want to get my memory up. The game has little cutscenes showing research done that "proves" that Brain Training helps. But is that true? I tried searching it up, and got mixed answers. I think I'm getting better at memorizing stuff, but maybe I'm just telling myself that because I want to improve memory by playing a game? Do you guys know?

Also, I'm stuck on 3-back on Devilish Calculations, and it frustrates me that instead of having me repeat 3-back over and over again until my mind can hold all the numbers, it puts me back on fast 2-back, which I get 100% or 95% everytime.

I've always enjoyed puzzle type games such as crazy creatures and the tengen version of tetris for the NES as i was growing up. I can say that being exposed to such things as a kid has helped as math and problem solving was more of a strong point for me in school.

I don't think there have been any scientific studies on this game but I bet it increases spacial intelligence/skills. It won't hurt you, other than some frustrating puzzles that you've apparently found already lol.

Like I said, there is cutscenes saying that Dr. Kawashima and him crew researched this sort of stuff. I'm not sure whether to believe it or not but what they're saying sounds plausible.

According to Wikipedia : Many neurologists recommend the game for prevention of dementia/Alzheimer's.[8] Nintendo of America has refused to support any scientific claims to the benefits of the game, stressing that they are in the entertainment business.

But I stand corrected, there were some scientific studies done to mixed results.

"Mixed results"

Man, which is it? Does it help or not?
