Hardware Do you think 3DS sales will continue to slump?

i dont think so. i think the slump will end when the AAA titles are release which will be before the NGP is released

. The design... Doesnt seem to fit a NGP-style Nyko Power Pak. We also do not know whether the NGP will have a replaceable battery, but from the design chances are unlikely.

No offense to fanboys but although 3DS does have 3 - 5 hours of battery life, it can be extendable at a low cost with ease. (BUT I'm not saying that the NGP can't.)

,but they could have something mount on it make it even bigger having a cord plug into the charge port or use a
usb universal charger. All that would be harder to carry around. To replace the battery, you may have to send it to Sony.

Still wouldn't be as easy or efficient.

We need to remember that in june will have the e3, and many surprises can happen for either consoles, but since the 3ds is already out, if a good game releases first, people would feel forced to buy the 3ds and the game. And in my opinion the legend of zelda will be an explosion for the console.

Once Nintendo starts to put out its first-party titles, the sales will easily increase. The slump is just because Nintendo didn't plan its release very well.

The pokemon black/white released almost at the same time as the 3ds, in my opinion they should have changed the platform to the 3ds not changing the graphics at all, but just adding 3d effects. This would be a great game for the 3ds release. BTW a 3ds pokemon will be AWESOME, will have streetpass just like the pokewalker, spotpass, a great battle system local/online with spectators and all that poke stuff that we love

Well, most people complain about the price, and I know for sure that the NGP is most likely gonna be more expensive.
And for those cheap people buying gifts for others, they'll go with the cheaper handheld.

Our local shop has already told us that the PS3 will be far more worth getting than the NGP. It is expected to retail at about $600 SGD. US release prices should be around US$350 - 450. Sony PSP launched $100 more than the DS as well.

To me, $249.99 for a 3DS is pretty affordable, well, if you compare it with our local prices.

Pokemon will be coming to the 3DS, and I expect it to be the remakes and the possible gray (or grey) version. I'm looking forward to the online capabilities though! Maybe in gray you can even access the dream world thru your 3DS?

Anyway, if Nintendo were to surprise us, they might even make a HYBRID version (works on both DS/3DS). The cartridge or card might have an ARM and can track whether you're using a DS or 3DS. It will then load accordingly, DS at 256 by 192 resolution non-3D while te 3DS will have the 3D, enhanced online, 5:3 screen support etc.

These are just speculations as well, which are likely to not come true.
