I have a '45' header I have tried modifying the template to play Animal Crossing, which is 'AE,' using SAK without success. I cannot find a solid tutorial to fix this error. Maybe I need 3 unique headers for 'AE' 'C2' and '45'?
1. Load the template and ROM
2. Type in your Unique ID from your header dump
3. Select the same options as in the base template, there is a chart where they can be found in the SAK thread
4. Save, write and cycle
If that fails, you should repeat the steps and change just the manufacturer. Do not just punch in Cart/EEPROM ID's from your header dump - they will be incorrect.
You most certainly don't. Adjust all fields accordingly, cycle the cart after rewriting and if it fails, change the manufacturer bit. It may not match what you think it should be.
Thanks for the advice, but I am really needing a tutorial on what fields need adjusting. I have changed the .txt template file by removing AE and replacing with 45 and saved (didn't work). Then I changed the .txt template file removing the AE with C2 (not my header manufacturer by the way--my header chip ID begins with 45) and saved (didn't work). Then I tried my luck with SAK. Opened SAK, template file, rom, added header, selected manufacturer (tried both), and saved newly generated template file (didn't work). Each time I formatted card and cycled when inserted in 3ds.
If someone has "actually got this to work" I could really use the help. Graphics and step-by-step would be greatly appreciated! I'm slow
I know there are others struggling with this from the threads I have read. The only thing I can think is that it has something to do with the way I am modifying the info in SAK. The template file is changing, both with a new template (if generated with SAK) or with the minor manufacturer adjustment (if changing the .txt file). I never get a template error and the game works fine, just no online play...

Genius Foxi4! Thanks for the help and problem solved. My issue was that I didn't pay attention to the chart in the SAK thread. I was leaving these fields blank. When I followed the instructions (imagine that) all worked! Thanks for taking the time to explain to this slow person!
