I know I saw at least one episode, for whatever reason. There are only two things I recall: First, some lady says, "frychicken'ooooh." That stuck out to me, since it sounded fast and unnatural. Second, I think the girl in the pink cap expresses her deep concern for a particular Digimon, and her necklace lights up.

I await a Digimon fanatic to pop in and tell me the episode and timestamp.

What I'd like to know is how the first English Digimon opening is regarded among anime enthusiasts. I feel like the Pokemon theme was the most well-received English opening of any anime dub. I have soft spots for Monster Rancher's and Beyblade's first (only?) English openings.

"I played teh game like'n ace;
Now, we're in this place;
To save the monsters for teh evil moo;"

(Monsters rule) Monsters rule!
(Monster Rancher)
Hahaha, I love it. The memories are flooding back.

TL;DR: I start off talking about Digimon, but Monster Rancher steals the show.

I'm just overall blown how badly the entire franchise was mismanaged over the years. Games especially were such a wild mix and mess as a whole, though I'm yet to want to dip back into some of the newer releases.

I know less about Digimon than I know about Monster Rancher. Which games are considered the absolute best way to experience Digimon?

I only played original World and 2, and they were real rough. I'd go see what was closest to the original World in PS3 and onward era and take a stab in the darkness. I'd need to revisit the list myself to see what's been happening, but knowing turn based combat in most of them is a big turn-off for me these days.

i'd say digimon story DS, as well as Dawn and Dusk, Cyber Slueth is an option....it's a good game but the game has WAY too much text dumps even from someone who is a fairly patient gamer.

There's also the rumble arena games, not RPGs but still janky fun party game

I personally enjoy the Digimon Story games

I appreciate all the responses. Since I haven't even played through a single Pokemon in full, I haven't even thought about other titles in the space. It sounds like there have been some solid titles in the Digimon series over the years. I wouldn't know which one to pick, though I tend to naturally favor games earlier in a franchise's history.

Just do NOT do original World 2 and maybe even 3....... 2 was a horrid, grindy, crappy dungeon crawler.

It sounds like there are some unpleasant memories with that one.
You've nooo idea. Imagine liking a franchise, getting that ONE game as a kid, and learning that it's helluva not all that great nor fun. Pretty much made me give up after so long.

Damn near all jrpgs need are real-time combat via Mana, Tales, and World Ends With You - makes mostly everything including slew of random encounters soooo much more palatable. Latest Mana and remakes of 1 & 2 that made random spawns optional to engage perfected the formula IMO.

This year has been massive for Digimon. Aside for being the third most profitable license overseas for Toei these past few years. We got Time Stranger which is shaping up to be the most successful game in the franchise. There's Digimon Beatbreak anime airing. TCG is going strong with a TCG based game releasing soon. There's the biweekly Liberator webcomic and some oneshot mangas every now and then. And the VPet toys are getting their second crossover with Godzilla releasing next year. Also Digimon doing crossover with random-ass gacha games every now and then.

Feels good to be a Digimon fan.

Im kinda interested in the tcg but I find the rules to be a bit obtuse
yeah i feel like the vast majority of TCG games got a bit more tedious and convoluted overtime, i played yu gi oh from gx up til 5D's and once zexal came out i was pretty out an i hear the current series is kinda wack, though it's good digimon is doing good, though i dont think ill touch the TCG either lol
