Hacking Did I Brick???????

As I said in the other version of this thread... make sure you have Luma's boot.firm at the root of the SD card, not having it gives black screen. Brick is black screen with popping sound (not always though) that turns off by itself after a few seconds.

I have the file on the sd but when I boot it up the screen is still black and it doesn't shut off

Try checking the SD card for errors real quick just in case. Also, can you boot into Luma settings or chainloader? Not turning off by itself is very unlikely to be brick...
 
Try a older version of luma (the boot on your r sd root). I had this black screen yesterday and this worked
