Hello, I'm trying to install CFW onto my New 3DS XL and I'm on the last page of 3ds.guide on section 2. Under step to it says I should be on 2.1.0. Just to make sure I was on the correct firmware, I went into the setting. I was on 2.1.0. When exiting the system settings app I got a black screen. It's been this way for about 10 minutes now. Did I just brick my New 3DS? If so, is there anything I can do to fix it? To my knowledge a bricked New 3DS on 2.1.0 is pretty much doomed.

Is the SD Card in your console?
If so, turn it off, take the sd out and turn it on again.

Do not shut the lid while the console is still on.
Thank you! The screens are super weird looking now, but I remember reading something earlier in the guide that said that is normal. You're a lifesaver!

No worries, and yeah, that's normal.
N3DS never had this firmware.

Good luck on finishing the guide ^^

Ran into another problem in section 4 where in the previous section I got the "Failed to mount CTRNAND" error. Though it told me I was able to just go to the next section. I "press any button to shutdown" and go to section 4. It tells me to start the system up while holding Start, but when I do I'm greeted with the same "Failed to mount CTRNAND" error I got from section 3.

Do you have a start_Hourglass9.bin file on your SD Card? (in luma > payloads)

Thanks again!

I remember there being a few things to rename last time I did this, was the guide updated to only rename this one file, or am I not seeing something?

No, you're right. The guide used to give you EmuNAND9 and Uncart as well among other things, but those are pretty depreciated now since D9 can do both IIRC.
